Midterm season!

Well, there's the first step towards updating this more (again...). Anyway, I'm in my CPSC 215 class, and we're starting to review for our midterm. Indeed, the next week and a bit are all midterms before reading week (which starts on the 18th offically, but we have the weekend before that :p).

Mon, Wed, and Fri I have midterms, and on Fri I have an assignment due as well. It's going to be insane, so if I kinda disapear for a while, it's because of the work load.

Past that there isn't much more to say. I've just got a butt load of work to get too here, so I'm gonna run, and try to pay attention in lecture.

School Politics

Yup, time for my yearly rant about the poltics here at the U of C. Luckily for you I'm exhausted (didn't sleep well.. or at all for that matter) so it'll be short.

1) Party Politics are on the rise, again. This year the number of parties is higher than ever, and are running on poorer platforms than ever too boot. It's pretty lame when one of the parties (who don't identify themselves as such, at most they admit they are running mates) litterally uses vegetables to fill out thier alitteration. That's right, vegetables.

2) Ad campagins. Once again some of the candidates are coming up with creative movie rip offs, this year "Kill Bills" is the running platform of one VP External candidate. Some are doing rip offs of pop culture comics, such as Desil Sweeties. I'm not sure whether or not I like this trend, but at least they're trying. Unlike some girls who's ads look like call girl posters or thier MySpace page, that's just blatant laziness.

3) Candidates who don't know what thier jobs are seems to also be on the rise. Several times I've seen candidates advertising they will lower tuition. They can't do that. They can LOBBY for it (and some ads state that, good on them), but the VP Op-FI can't just freeze tuition. If they could, it would have happened already.

4) Many Candidates, the same goals. Sadly, there are few differences between the candidates platforms. They differentiate themselves based on stupidity, pop clture references or being "mature". However, once in office, they will continue on much the course that the office itself has run for years. There are admitedly some people who are trying to make small but helpful changes (such as moving club administration online) but other than that, there isn't much that can be changed. It's all the red tape and the short office terms, plus having to maintain thier grades that prevents most people from doing anything of substance.

So on my last post there is an interesting comment, and I want to thank the person who posted it for giving me a good laugh. Thank you very much.

I'm gonna try to update this more now, at least post links to intersting things etc. I promised myself I wouldn keep on top of this, and I will! Just gotta work a little harder.

About time for an update

Yup, it's about friggin time eh? So what's been happening in my life.

Butt fuck nothing.

Ya... interesting eh? I've just been going to class, doing my homework, and going to work. Midterms are coming, as is reading week, and other than that... nothing much has been going on.

I've sorta patched up a misunderstanding with Graham in the past bit; it seems we really did get some wires crossed and ended up thinking we hated each other, but we don't. So that seems to be working out fine right now.

A guy from work has asked me out, I'm going to dinner with him on the 16th. I don't know what will come of that, at this point I think not much. I dont' know if I'm ready for anything yet, and I'm not even sure he's my type. So we'll see.

I went to Mark's house recently, and that was pretty fun. We watched porn :P Actually, I've done that twice in the last week or so. We rented some really funny anime porn that is just a riot to watch and had a blast laughing our butts off. :p It's called Ogenki Clinic. Watch it. Or I kill you.

I'm tired and cranky right now, so I can't think of much more to say... Class is on right now, and I'm supposed to be thinking about something... But I'm not. Go me.

Oh I got a bunch of Planar Chaos magic cards recently. I actually have the whole set except for Magus of the Arena. It's in a pre con deck though so worse comes to worse I know exactly where to get it from. :p But yes, for anyone who cares, I do have Akroma (2 actually) and a Braids. And no, you can't have Braids, shes mine.
