Holy.... popcorn from hell

James and I had a bit of an adventure last night... We were at his place watching first5 episodes of the Aeon Flux cartoon series, and decided we wanted popcorn. So we got to the store and I reach for the microwave stuff, he says that they have one of the stove top things and EVERYTHING (that will be important later) that we could do the slower stuff. I decided that would be cool and went with it.

We got back to his place and turned on the stove and he went and grabbed some Extra Virgin Olive oil. I said that it was better with butter, and he agreed that that is how his Dad makes it, so we did the butter thing. Well after some time melting the butter and trying to popcorn we ended up with a bunch of brown butter and no popcorn. Attempt two left us with dark brown popcorn of doom...

It was at this point that I said we should switch to the oil and then relaized that I had assumed EVERYTHING included knowledge to make the popcorn. James has never made it athat way before, just watched.

Anyway, after a while we got popcorn from the oil, but it tasted like shit. So we gave up.

It was an interesting affair, and a nice waist of like 45 minutes. :p Oh well, we had fun.

BTW - Aeon Flux is good so far, and I plan to start Artilier Iris tonight! ^-^
