Weekend exhaustion...

I am so tired... my whole body just wants me to sleep... and play We Love Katamari. I rented it last night, James and I played it for hours! The game is wonderful and fun! I love when James comes over, we always have such a blast. ^-^

I managed to survive my tests without resorting to caffine pills, but I am exhausted and have a ton of reading to do this weekend. Technically I have 10 chapters to read, but I don't think I'll get all of that done, I think I'll prolly get 6 done. But that's not too bad. I'll be on traack at the very least.

We're headed out to Tony Roma's for a late dinner tonight for my Dad's birthday. I gave him the gift I got for him a "My Kid and my Money go to University of Calgary" t-shirt and a little keychain light thing. I'm glad he liked it.

My Dad got a new skyware program for the house, and he bought a copy for me. hehehe, makes me happy, cause I love my laptop! ^-^ It's Spyware Doctor, and Petro Canada is using it and is encouraging the employees to use it at home, so I'm guyess it's pretty good. I like it, it's really good, got rid of the Morpheus bug, the Win Fixer bug, and few other vrey annoying hijacking programs. Between that, using Firefox, Adaware, and PC Chillin firewall, I'm really well protected. Happy happy!

The Further Adventures of Arky

Well, it looks like we're watching a movie in Arky, which is pretty sweet because it means I haven't really done any work today. Well, o.k. I took a long, fairly hard test, but whatever, I haven't had to do any new work. ^-^ I don't think I'll do any work today.

James is gonna be coming over tonight, we're gonna play videogames and watch the sexy shows on Showcase latenight. :p O.k... some of it really isn't sexy, but you get the idea. Anyway. We might hit the hot tub too, lol. Michelle and I have been sharing hot tub horror stories. So it's on my mind now.

Last night, I saw the last week of the Miyazaki film fest, two really cute movies, lol. Pom Poko involves these Raccoon Dog things from Japan that are figures of fertility. So thier nut sacks are shown in the movie, alot, and are actually used as weapons. It's a crazy cultural stuff. :p It was cute though, I liked it.

This is not an election rant

Almost everyone I know is posting a rant about the election on thier blogs, but I won't be following suit.
1) My party didn't have a hope in hell of taking power, we're just happy to have seats and to be more influential.
2) I really just don't want to get into all that bs.

Anyway, what I do want to say in reguards to the election is that White House called to congratulate Harper on his victory. They didn't call Canada to congratulate them on the switch, they didn't call Harper when he got all sworn in and set up. They called like the night of/next day. That is kinda alarming considering Bush prolly doesn't know we have provinces/territories and not states. One thing that is certain with the Conservatives in power, we are going to further more follow our "Big Brother" around and generally be the Bitch for Bush and his buddies.

But that's all I'm gonna say on that. I'm kinda stuffed right now, had a good lunch and have been sippin' on a slurpee. Ate lunch with James and Bryan, scared off Wilson lol. It was a nice rest.

I'm really stressed over the amount of reading I have to do... fuck. I have like 6 chapters of reading this week to do... and I'm already behind a little. I worked hella hard last night to catch up, I'm now only behind in this weeks work, everything is from last week is finally done. I am gonna just read from the time I get home till like 10 maybe and then go to sleep. I'm getting exhausted and I really gotta catch up on some sleep... I have like no energy today... I almost took some caffine pills a friend of James' had...

Maybe I'll have to look into some...

Yummy!

And now back to the little details of my life! I decided I didn't feel like plan fries for dinner, and as my usual choice "Lowery's Seasoning Salt" was available, I decided to hunt around the internet and find an recipe for an alternative. I found one for the seasoning salt used at The Hard Rock Cafe on it's burgers and fries. I took the recipe, modified it a little and this is what came out:

Hard Rock Cafe Seasoning Salt

1/2 cup Kosher Salt (I used coarse)
1 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
1 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1 1/4 tsp Coarse Black pepper (mine wasn't actually that coarse)
1 1/4 tsp Celery Salt

It's yummy! lol You have to use quiet a bit I found, it looks like a ton of salt, but becuase the salt is so coarse, it doesn't stick that much to thinner fries... lol. It will work REALLY good on/in a burger.

Just as a review, French Fries are my favorite food and I'm planning to become something of an expert. I literally eat a plate/order a day somewhere in there unless I'm sick or something. It's kinda a hobby of mine. I have an interest in cooking and my fave food is often the focus of it, or the things I eat with fries such as burgers, chicken etc.

I wouldn't mind publishing a book on French Fries someday... anyway, no mocking my love of fries! :p

Commentary

O.k. in the past few days I've gotten a couple rather nasty comments. Some of you have probably seen them. One is a desperate plea for attention; a last ditch attempt to increase the writers self esteem through the attempted deflation of anothers. The other is just rather short sighted, and while I can see how the author may have been attempting to give me "good advice" it's generally not considered good form to tell someone thier happiness is premature and should be adandoned.

Everyone is intitlled to thier opinion, and I really believe these people have a right to say and think what they please, but really, manners and good taste do come into play. Restraint and understanding of the impact of statements are not hard concepts. The old rule "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" is a pretty basic rule to follow. If you are capable of the extra steps of reasoning you can say things that aren't nice, but say them in intellegent, well thought out ways that turn inane bitching into debate.

As far as giving advice that subverts the happiness of others, no matter how well thought out it is, it's just not appricated by anyone. Happiness is very fleeting, and while yes, people need to live thier lives before settling down etc, part of that life should be realtionships etc.

I was told in one of the remarks mentioned in the first paragraph that my blog lacked substance and that I should take about more important things. I hope this meets your criteria.

Further, I would like to voice my musing as to how that person stumbled upon this blog. I am aware there is a search function, and links of recently udpated blogs on the main page, but do people really surf around on these, looking for people to insult? I can understand looking through out of interest, or looking for perhaps someone of like mind to interact with, but why would you bother to take the time to write an insult on something you consider to be worthless?
Do you really believe it to be a good use of time?

Anyway, that's my thoughts on that, I'm kinda wasting time in Arky class and just felt like venting on that. Thank you to all my friends who came to my defense in the comments. I will not be moderating comments etc, despite these people, because "while I may not agree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it."

My eyes...

I have done a ton of reading tody... and my eyes are hating me for it. Worse still, I have a bunch more to do.

I'm behind in it, but I hope to be all caught up by the end of tommorow. I should be able to do it. It's just not gonna be that fun.

Well, tommorow I need to get my Dad's birthday present, my budget is 30 bucks. I think that's reasonable. It's so hard to find anything for him because his birthday is so close to Christmas.

Anyway, I gotta get back to my stupid reading. See you all laters.
